I'm Back... GWO Las Vegas Style

I miss blogging. Life is just always getting in the way. I've been journaling in my journal, but it's just not the same. So I'm back.

Tay is almost finished with tenth grade. She has finals next week. Then hello summer break. I couldn't be happier. No more getting up before the sun. Can I hear an AMEN?

Last weekend I went to Las Vegas. My friend Michelle flew down from SF and our friend Jenn lives there. We stayed at Aria. Jenn has a friend that works there, so we got a pretty sweet deal. Thanks Jenn and friend!!!

Michelle had arrived earlier so Jenn and her were all ready to go out for the night when I arrived. So after freashing up and changing we went to Dal Toro Ristorante for dinner at The Palazzo.

Jenn and I split the Ravioli Al Formaggio and Lasagna Della Nonna. We also enjoyed a dirty martini with our meal. It was my first time having one and it wasn't bad. Not sure if I'd order it again. The food was perfect. We cleaned the plates so it must have been.

After dinner we went back to Aria and went to Gold Lounge. For $20 to enter and unlimited drinks this was the a good choice.

There's a whole lot going on in this picture, but I'm only impressed with Jenns ability to carry her drink on her head.

On Sunday we woke up at noon. We were all pretty excited about that. None of us could remember the last time we slept in that late.

We went to Cafe Vettro at Aria for lunch.

Jenn and I shared the Turkey Club. Just what we needed. It tasted wonderful and it was the perfect amount of food. We went to the pool after but I didn't stay long. I went to play the slots. By the time I went back Michelle and Jenn were done. It was time to start getting ready for dinner. With three girls and one shower we needed a few hours to get ready. :)

For dinner we went to Senor Frogs at TI.

I got the Carne Asada Tacos and Jenn and Michelle got the Chicken Chimichangas. The food was not good. It was quite awful. The Tacos were bland. The Chimichangas were gross. The inside was cold as was the side of rice. Jenn didn't even eat hers. After telling our waitress the food wasn't cooked she didn't do anything about it. The margaritas we had weren't even good. And to top it off there were gnats flying around. The whole meal/expierence was so disappointing.

After we went over to Gilley's Saloon at TI.

Lots of drinking, meeting new friends, bull riding... We were only planning on staying for a drink but ended up staying until we got kicked out at closing time.

From there we took a $5 limo ride (score!) to The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan.

We stayed for one drink then decided it was getting late and we were hungry (since we didn't have much of a dinner, thanks for nothing Mr. Frog).

We went to the hidden pizza joint in The Cosmo.

Best pizza ever or I was just really hungry and/or a little tipsy. ;)  It really was pretty good. Next time I go to Vegas I will try it before I start drinking just to see if it's still on my top ten list. By the time we got back to the hotel it was four.

We woke up at nine am. Not bad for going to bed after four. We probably would have slept in later if we didn't have to check out. So after we packed and checked out we went to Sugar Factory at Paris for lunch.

At first we went to the gift shop.

Michelle and I wanted to get our kids a little something. Since Tay will be getting her drivers licence this summer I got her this cute key chain.

We started with Creamy Artichoke and Spinach Dip. One of my favorite dips and Sugar Factory did not disappoint. Jenn and I split the Ham and Cheese Croissant Sandwich. Yum. Perfect meal to end our wonderful fun filled and action packed little girls weekend.

Andy Rooney On Women Over 40

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
*A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, “What are you thinking?” She doesn’t care what you think.
*If a woman over 40 doesn’t want to watch the game, she doesn’t sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it’s usually more interesting.
*Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won’t hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.
*Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it’s like to be unappreciated.
*Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.
*Older women are forthright and honest. They’ll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don’t ever have to wonder where you stand with her!
Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it’s not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress.
Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, “Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?”, here’s an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it’s not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

E.A.T. for the Kitchen (DIY Project)

I have a spot on my wall between the dining area and my kitchen that I just didn't know what to put there.

I didn't want a picture and I didn't want any type of shelf. I already feel like my counters are crowded. But it is so plain and boring.

 Then I saw this...

Perfect!!! I could just go to my local craft store and pick up some supplies for my DIY project.

I bought the letters at Michael's. The letters were $3.50 each but I had enough coupons for 40% off each one. The paint was on sale for 50 cents and the brush was on sale for 13 cents and the varnish was $6.50 but I used a coupon for 50% off. Total price for this project $17.60 (before tax). What I paid for with coupons $8.08 (before tax).

I just love how it turned out.

Sense and Scare

This Halloween season we aren't afraid of the monsters at Six Flags Fright Fest or Halloween Horror Night at Universal . No, they don't scare us.

The houses decorated to send us running? NO!

All the horror films that the TV is flooded with? Doesn't scare us at all.

But you know what has sent us jumping and screaming in fear for our life?

The three Glade Sense and Sprays I just bought from CVS.

I put one in the hall bathroom, one in the master bathroom and one in the living room/dining room. At first it scared Taylor when she went to wash her hands in the bathroom. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. But then a few hours later it happened to me and Taylor was the one laughing. Now we are just waiting for the Glade to get Jason. Mwahahahahahaha!!!

Note: Other then jumping every time it senses and sprays I really like it. My home smells so good. I'm sure we'll get use to it.
